The rules of beach volleyball and the differences compared to indoor volleyball are mainly influenced by the different playing surface (sand), the impact of weather conditions, and the fact that teams consist of only two players.

The technique of ball contact is very similar (but not identical!) to indoor volleyball. The rules of the game may vary slightly depending on the part of the world where competitions are held or the federation governing the sport. However, the fundamental rules remain the same regardless of geographic location.

In a sport like beach volleyball, the rules are relatively simple and intuitive. Once you’ve learned the basics, check out our beach volleyball camp offerings.
